An important step in reducing edema is to decrease lymphatic congestion. This is a basic instruction of clearing major lymph node groups to improve lymphatic flow throughout the body.
This is the first step of performing Manual Lymph Drainage (otherwise known as MLD). MLD encourages the flow of lymph fluid out of the involved, congested area.
